Svolvaer Norway - Whats it like to visit
My visit to Lofoten was the last leg of my month long road trip through Norway.
Having taken the ferry from Bognes in Hamaroy to the small ferry port of Lodingen and then onto a campsite in Gullesfjord which would be my main base for exploring Lofoten.
Lofoten is quite a bleak place and nothing like the pictures you see on Instagram.
You have to remember, the pictures you see on Instagram are taken in perfect conditions. the reality is a bleak, cold, windy landscape with small, narrow roads to navigate.
Don’t let that put you off visiting Lofoten. It’s a spectacular part of the world. But be prepared for weather that can change very quickly. If your camping, you’ll be sitting inside your tent or sheltering in one fo the many huts quite a bit.
